The Forest, a character with plant based powers

This is a main character in a fictional universe that I’ve been slowly imagining. 
While subject to change, I currently call this guy “Will” or his character name “The Forest”. 
A bright young scientist, Will was part of a team researching a strange plant sample with strange growth characteristics. Taken from a mystic forest, this plant could grow rapidly with minimal nutrients. The team hoped to apply what they learned to further medial advancements regarding tissue growth. Will especially was eager for results as he had lost his right arm at a young age. One fateful day, the sample latched itself to Will and grew into his body as a permanent addition, changing his biology. The human and plant sides have reached a healthy hybridization. Will benefits from an increased recovery rate and a hyper adaptive right arm. He can create various objects and different plant life from his right side. As long as he keeps his photosynthesis, water intake, and calories up, he can assist his world as The Forest.
